Legendele Estului Salbatic: Root si Bombarder la Old Grave Fest!

rtmfest-2014-afis_2_mareRomanian Thrash Metal Club anunta prezenta, in premiera in Romania, a celei mai importante trupe de metal din Cehia, respectiv Serbia.  Emblematice pentru scena metal din tarile lor si, in acelasi timp, doua din cele mai interesante nume din metalul est-european, Root si Bombarder se adauga pe afisul Old Grave Fest – Romanian Thrash Metal Fest editia a 3-a, eveniment care va avea loc intre 10-11 octombrie 2014, in Club Fabrica, str. 11 Iunie nr. 50, Bucuresti.

Grave (Suedia), Desaster (Germania), Root (Cehia), Bombarder (Serbia), Sodomizer (Brazilia), Bölzer (Elvetia), Obsessör (Germania), Hellcannon (SUA), Slaughtered Priest (Grecia), Necrochakal (Grecia), Vehementer (Serbia), Extirpation (Italia). Alte trupe urmeaza sa fie confirmate.

Legends of the Wild East: Root and Bombarder at Old Grave Fest!

rtmfest-2014-afis_2_mareRomanian Thrash Metal Club announces the presence, for the first time in Romania, of the most important metal band from Czech Republic and from Serbia, respectively. Iconic for their countries’ metal scene and, at the same time, two of the most interesting names in Estern – European metal, Root and Bombarder are added to the Old Grave Fest – Romanian Thrash Metal Fest 3 edition line-up, an event scheduled  between 10-11 October 2014, at Fabrica Club, 11 Iunie no. 50, Bucharest.

From the Czech Republic, the living legend Root, founded back in 1987 in communist Czechoslovakia, comes to Bucharest. With an impressive discography, composed of 9 studio albums, most of them considered milestones, and a horde of demos, splits and EPs, Root made its debut at the end of the ‘80s as a special exponent of the narrow early black metal movement, precursory of the second wave. Then, like mighty Bathory before them,  Root, led by the ever-charismatic Big Boss, one of the most unique voices in extreme metal, gradually transitioned towards a dark, epic and, in places, histrionic type of metal, but always keeping alive the extreme ideology of the early outputs. And the fact that, almost three decades later, notable figures like Nergal (Behemoth), Blasphemer (ex-Mayhem, Aura Noir, Twilight of the Gods) or E. (Watain) have accepted to appear as guest musicians on Root’s most recent album, illustrates the respect shown to the Czechs by the world black metal’s elite.

Bombarder, the flagship band of our Serbian neighbours, represents not only a metal band, but a part of the troubled history of this side of the world. Founded in 1986 at Sarajevo, the band experienced the desintegration of former Yugoslavia in the early 90’s, while the bloody Balkan wars that followed claimed the lives of two main members: drumer Fahrudin Celik and guitarist Maho Šiljdedic. Relocated in

Belgrade after the war, founding leader Nenad “Nešo” Kovacevic ressurected the band from its ashes, once again unleashing over the regions at the south of Danube what Bombarder knows how to bring best: a speel metal hurricane! Whether we’re considering their first albums, with their classic heavy/speed metal display, or their newer ones, spiced up in places with thrash elements, Bombarder represents a high class, old-school, hidden metal gem, that you may (re)discover in October, at Old Grave Fest.

Alongside Bombarder, their countrymen in Vehementer are coming to Bucharest. A potent blackthrash metal beast, Vehementer may be a new band, but it is composed of seasoned musicians, trained within the harshness of the Serbian underground, in bands like Bombarder, Infest, The Stone or Triumfall. Their intense compositions and live display are already gaining appreciation.

The three Eastern bands join a line-up that, at the moment, looks like this:

Grave (Sweden), Desaster (Germany), Root (Czech Republic), Bombarder (Serbia), Sodomizer (Brasil), Bölzer (Switzerland), Obsessör (Germany), Hellcannon (USA), Slaughtered Priest (Greece), Necrochakal (Greece), Vehementer (Serbia), Extirpation (Italy). More bands will be confirmed.

Until the 31st of May, the price for a two day ticket is only 115 ron! This offer is LIMITED to 100 tickets, that can be purchased through BILETOO network (here you have the direct link to the event, in all three websites: http://www.biletoo.ro, http://www.blt.ro, http://www.bilet.ro)  and, for those in Romania, the Biletoo retail stores partners (http://biletoo.ro/retea.php).
